An innocent 11-month-old baby girl named “Heather” and a homeless man suspected of abducting the child were the subject of a desperate hunt by Los Angeles police Monday.
The homeless man and the baby were last spotted in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles with the man holding the child while riding an adult tricycle, according to authorities.
The infant was taken about 6 p.m. Sunday from the 8100 block of South Western Avenue, but the abduction wasn’t reported to the Los Angeles Police Department until Monday morning, police said.
LAPD officials said they are looking for the girl and the suspect, 39-year-old Delaneo Adams.
Detectives said Adams is believed to be homeless, but he is an acquaintance of the girl’s parents. He was allegedly with the family Sunday night and disappeared with the girl.
Photos of Heather and Adams were shared on the LAPD’s Twitter feed.
Authorities did not disclose any other information about the case, including the circumstances of the abduction and why the case was not reported to police until Monday.
