It took Downey firefighters and reinforcements from other area departments nearly three hours Monday morning to put out a second-alarm blaze in a vacant commercial building.
The fire was reported at 12:43 a.m. at 12138 Bellflower Blvd., according to a Downey fire dispatcher.
The fire started on the roof of the vacant, one-story building, she said.
The fire grew, and a second-alarm was called, with help coming from the Montebello, Santa Fe Springs and Los Angeles County departments, she said.
Firefighters had the flames out at 3:26 a.m., she said. No injuries were reported.
