Three people remained jailed Saturday after police stopped their vehicle at a Riverside motel and allegedly found drugs and loaded firearms inside.

Officers were staking out the back of a Motel 6 on La Sierra Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Friday when they spotted a vehicle drive through the parking lot with several people in it, according to the Riverside City Police Department.

When officers approached the car, one of the occupants tried to walk away but was detained, and during a search of the car, they found a loaded revolver in his waistband, and later discovered drugs and another loaded firearm concealed inside the vehicle, police said.

Three San Bernardino residents were arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Kenneth Thompson, 29, was arrested on suspicion of multiple weapons violations, drug possession and violating his parole and remained jailed without bail.

Sergio Rodriguez, Jr., 30, was arrested on suspicion of multiple weapons violations and remained jailed on $10,000 bail.

Kunnary Tan, 24, was arrested for having an outstanding felony burglary warrant and remained jailed on $50,000 bail.
