The Riverside County coroner’s office Sunday named the teenage ATV rider who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the unincorporated Mead Valley area near Perris.
The crash occurred at about 8 p.m. Thursday in the 20700 block of Myron Street, near Mead Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The ATV rider died at the scene before the arrival of paramedics, the department said.
The coroner’s office identified him as Axel Perez, 17, of Perris.
Perez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP said the suspect vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on Myron Street toward Brown Street, but did not provide a description of the vehicle.
