A 47-year-old woman accused of running a brothel in a desert town just north of Palm Springs was out of custody Thursday on $2,500 bail.

Yanying He of Beaumont was arrested Wednesday afternoon and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of prostitution and keeping a house of prostitution, both misdemeanors. She posted bail the same day.

Law enforcement personnel served a warrant about 4 p.m. in the 64000 block of Mission Lakes Boulevard in Desert Hot Springs in connection with an ongoing sex trafficking investigation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Jose Tijerina said no sex trafficking victims were discovered during the operation.

The suspect was directed to appear at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Aug. 18, jail records show.
