A 50-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday on the Riverside (91) Freeway when she lost control of her bike and was hurled into lanes.

Yolanda Castillo of Riverside was fatally injured about 5 a.m. on the westbound 91 near Pierce Street, on the west end of Riverside.

California Highway Patrol Officer Juan Quintero said the victim was traveling at an unknown speed in the fast lane when she “lost control of her motorcycle, causing her to be ejected” onto the freeway.

No other vehicles were involved, Quintero said.

Riverside Fire Department paramedics pronounced Castillo dead at the scene.

The westbound HOV and fast lanes were closed for more than an hour while a preliminary investigation was conducted and debris was cleared from the freeway.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.
