One person was killed Friday in a two-alarm blaze that damaged an automotive repair shop in Stanton.

The fire was reported about 11:30 a.m. in the 11800 block of Beach Boulevard, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg Barta.

“Once we were able to extinguish the fire and do a thorough search of the building, we found an individual who perished inside the building,” Barta said Friday afternoon.

It’s not clear if the victim was male or female, Barta said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and a damage figure was not released.
