A driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed into a Canyon Country fire station Thursday.

There was no immediate word of why the crash took place.

The driver crashed into the front of Los Angeles County Fire Station 132, at 29310 Sand Canyon Road, and went through the exterior wall just before 8:15 a.m., according to a fire department statement.

The driver was evaluated for unspecified injuries by firefighters at the scene, but declined transport to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol were investigating the crash.

The city of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was notified of the crash and will assess the structural integrity of the station, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department statement.

The fire station remained operational following the crash.
