Los Angeles Police Department officers Wednesday established a perimeter in the Fairfax district in an attempt to locate an armed suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers were called to the 7600 block of Beverly Boulevard, near Pan Pacific Park, at about 6:50 p.m. on reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, said Officer William Cooper of the LAPD Media Relations Division.

ABC7 reported that the manager of an apartment building near Fairfax Avenue and Beverly Boulevard reported hearing gunshots and there were additional reports of a person armed with a gun threatening to shoot others.

Residents in the area were advised to remain indoors during the search.

No injuries were reported.
