Firefighters knocked down that small brush fire in El Sereno Sunday that scorched about a half-acre of grass, and no buildings were damaged.
The blaze broke out near 4706 E. Klamath just after 8:30 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
The department dispatched 54 firefighters to the scene and extinguished flames in about 16 minutes, Stewart said.
No victims were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
