Police Saturday are looking for a suspect who carjacked a woman at a Banning gas station and hit her with the vehicle as he drove away.
According to the Banning Police Department, the woman stopped to refuel about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of East Ramsey Street.
She exited her vehicle, which was left unlocked and running, and entered the gas station when she noticed a man had entered her vehicle, police said.
The woman ran out of the business and attempted to confront the man, but when she tried opening the vehicle’s door it was locked.
“As she attempted to open the door, the suspect drove out of the station parking-lot, knocking the victim to the ground and striking the victim with vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries,” police said in a news release.
The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the victim but the suspect remains at large.
Images shared by police show the suspect wearing a camouflage-colored shirt, baseball cap and shorts.
Anyone with information about the incident was urged to contact Banning detectives at 951-922-3170.
