A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of participating in a spate of vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier this week in Desert Hot Springs, police said Friday.
The boy, whose name was not released because he is underage, allegedly burglarized dozens of vehicles between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
He allegedly busted out the windows and stole items from inside the vehicles. Police said he was arrested while behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle that defectives had linked to the crime spree during their investigation.
“Evidence recovered confirmed the vehicle and driver’s involvement in the burglaries,” police said.
Detectives are seeking arrest warrants for additional suspects.
