Authorities Sunday sought the public’s help in identifying two women caught on surveillance camera who attacked a woman in Long Beach, then took her wallet.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Peace Street shortly before 12:50 p.m. Thursday, regarding a robbery. The victim had been walking down the street when the two suspects tried to take her purse, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
The woman held onto to her purse as the suspects “battered” her, according to police, and as the surveillance video shows. The assailants fled on foot.
The woman’s leg was broken in the attack, CBS2 reported.
Paramedics took the woman to an area hospital, where she was treated for her injuries, police said.
Inside the purse, the victim had $300 in rent money, which was stolen, police said.
Long Beach police detectives urged anyone with information regarding the robbery to call them at 562-570-7464. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
