Firefighters knocked down a fire that destroyed a detached garage and spread to another garage in Hyde Park.
The blaze at 3647 W. Hyde Park Blvd. was reported at 6:11 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Firefighters protected other nearby buildings, Prange said.
The department sent 35 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes, he said.
No victims were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
