Firefighters made quick work Sunday of a small brush fire in Lincoln Heights.

The 50-feet-by-50-feet area of grass which ignited near 517 E. Avenue 28 was reported at 4:47 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The department dispatched 17 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange.

No structures were damaged, Prange said.

No victims were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
