A fire that erupted in a Perris home Wednesday damaged part of the property, displacing a family of five.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly after 5 a.m. in the 300 block of West 10th Street, near B Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke at the front of the single-story residence, from which two adults and three children escaped unharmed.
Firefighters got the blaze under control less than a half-hour later, but due to the damage, the occupants required temporary alternate living quarters.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the victims, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
