A suspected DUI driver killed another motorist in crash Sunday in Orange.
The crash happened about 4 p.m. at the intersection of West Sycamore Avenue and North Main Street, police told the Orange County Register.
The man driving a Mazda Protégé died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of a Honda Accord — identified by police as 23-year-old Antonio Sanchez Contreras of Los Angeles — was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while driving intoxicated, police told the paper. He was not injured in the crash.
Investigators told the paper the Mazda was in a left turn lane when it was rear-ended by Contreras, who was speeding.
No bail or court information was immediately available.
