Police Tuesday evening were attempting to arrest two people who barricaded themselves in an Echo Park house where a body was found.
Los Angeles Fire Department units were called at about 6:27 p.m. to the residence located in the 1100 block of Douglas Street, near Sunset Boulevard, to conduct a welfare check, according to Officer William Cooper of the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Division.
LAFD personnel located a body at the residence, and police were called to the scene. However, two people inside the house refused to leave and allow authorities to investigate the death.
LAPD SWAT units were called to the scene to assist with the barricaded individuals and were en route as of about 9:10 p.m., Cooper said
No further details were released. It was not immediately known if police suspected the two people inside the residence of being responsible for the death.
