Authorities Friday identified a young man who was fatally shot at a Metro station south of downtown Los Angeles, and continued their efforts to solve the crime.
The shooting occurred about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at 1945 Long Beach Ave., the Washington Station stop on the Metro A (Blue) Line, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Bryan Gutierrez, 18, of Los Angeles, died at scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.
According to police, Gutierrez walked off a train car and was killed by a man who fired multiple shots at him and fled on foot. It was unknown if there was any connection between the gunman and the victim.
