A driving under the influence suspect who led police on a high-speed chase in Granada Hills Tuesday evening was taken into custody.
The driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway at approximately 10:20 p.m. before abandoning his vehicle in a residential neighborhood at Dempsey Avenue and San Jose Street near Haskell Avenue, KCAL9 reported.
The suspect leaped over several fences and walls of houses as he sought to elude officers and briefly hid under a set of trees. CHP officers captured him after a brief search and he continuously struggled as officers placed handcuffs on him.
KCAL 9 reported that the suspect might also be a suspect in an earlier hit-and-run collision but a CHP spokeswoman could not confirm this.
