A documented gang member and convicted felon was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of possessing heroin and ammunition, authorities said.
Noel Aguilar, 28, of Coachella was arrested Tuesday when deputies served a search warrant at his residence in the 50000 block of Balboa Street, according to Sgt. Paul Heredia of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies discovered suspected heroin and multiple rounds of ammunition at the residence and promptly booked Aguilar without bail at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of possessing heroin for sale and ammunition along with violating parole, Heredia said.
Jail records indicated that Aguilar will make his initial court appearance on Oct. 21 but did not specify where the appearance was scheduled.
Aguilar’s previous felony convictions were not immediately available.
