A man riding a stolen motorcycle was taken into custody in Lawndale after leading police on a pursuit.
The California Highway Patrol began pursuing the man about 9:25 p.m. on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway near Lakewood Boulevard in Bellflower, according to the CHP.
The man led police at high speeds on the Artesia Freeway to the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway, then the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway before exiting in the Hawthorne area.
The man turned southbound onto some railroad tracks and rode them until losing control of the motorcycle and falling at about 9:35 p.m. in the area of 163rd Street and Condon Avenue in Lawndale. He ran from the train tracks and attempted to hide in the carport of a nearby home, but was quickly found and arrested by CHP officers.
It was not immediately known why police began pursuing the man.
