A two-vehicle collision in Menifee killed two children, who were ejected from a pickup truck, authorities said Thursday.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday on Domenigoni Parkway, between Laguna Vista Drive and Leon Road, according to the Menifee Police Department.

Published reports stated that 18-year-old Logan Shell of Corona was at the wheel of a Ford F-150 pickup going west on Domenigoni when he allegedly crossed into opposing traffic lanes and struck a Chevrolet Silverado carrying the two children, whose identities were not released.

The Chevy veered onto the center divider, then rolled over, causing the victims to be thrown onto the roadway, authorities said.

The driver of the pickup and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.

Shell, who was not hurt, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, according to reports. It was not immediately clear into which detention facility he was booked, or his bail amount.

Police said the crash resulted in the closure of Domenigoni until the predawn hours Thursday.

The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information was asked to contact the police department at 951-723-1500.
