Police Wednesday sought public help to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for fatally injuring a pedestrian in the south Los Angeles area.
The woman was walking near Grand and Gage avenues at 6:40 a.m. Monday when she was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer truck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Iquisha Blaxon, 39, of Los Angeles died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The vehicle was turning right on Gage Avenue when the collision occurred, and the driver left the scene without stopping to render aid, police said.
The truck was described as having a dark-colored, late model cab with a possible company logo attached to the driver’s side door, according to police. The trailer was white with numbers or lettering on the front and sides. No description was available of the trucker.
