Police were looking for a pair of armed robbers who stole jewelry valued at $100,000 from three people early Tuesday in downtown Los Angeles.
Officers were called to the InterContinental Hotel at 900 Wilshire Blvd. at 12:58 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities said two men about 5-feet-6 inches to 5-feet-8 inches tall and wearing masks approached the victims, took about $100,000 worth of jewelry from them at gunpoint, then fled in a black, older-model BMW.
ABC7 reported that the crime occurred near the valet area at the hotel, and said the suspects got away with a number of rings and a watch. No injuries were reported.
Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division were investigating the crime. Anyone with information on the case was urged to contact police at 877-LAPD-247, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
