Two homeless women were wounded Saturday when someone fired shots into their tent set up in the Green Meadows area of Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred just before 4 a.m. at Imperial Highway and Avalon Boulevard, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The 56-year-old woman was wounded in one leg and the 42-year-old woman was wounded in one elbow, Orris said.

Both were taken by paramedics to a hospital where their vital signs were stable, he said.

No suspect description was available, Orris said.
