A man who may have had a sudden medical problem lost control of his SUV, crashed into a tree and sustained fatal injuries Monday, police said.

Police were called at 1:42 p.m. Monday to Euclid and Baker streets, Fullerton police Sgt. Brandon Clyde said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Clyde said.

The man was driving south on Euclid when he lost control of the SUV, veered over the center median and northbound lanes before slamming into a tree, Clyde said.

Clyde said it is possible the driver had a medical emergency before losing control of the car.
