A 35-year-old man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a girl in Orange for six years, starting when she was 7 years old.
The victim, who is now 13, told police that Jose Miguel Hernandezsaavedra, who is a family friend, had been molesting her since she was 7, said Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department.
Hernandezsaavedra was charged with oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger, sex or sodomy with a child 10 years or younger, continuous sexual abuse of a child, distributing pornography to a minor with the intent to engage in sexual conduct and lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, all felonies.
Hernandezsaavedra was scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 28 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
