A 24-year-old Colorado woman has been charged with running over her boyfriend and killing him in Westminster, according to court records obtained Wednesday.
Police were called about 5:20 a.m. Jan. 3 regarding a possible fatal hit-and-run in the 6500 block of Walt Street, near Edwards Street and the San Diego (405) Freeway, police said. When officers arrived they found 41-year-old Oscar Sandoval of Westminster in a driveway.
Police determined Sandoval was intentionally struck by a vehicle and began looking for an older model gray or black Jeep Grand Cherokee with custom chrome wheels and a roof rack with damage to the front and rear passenger side.
Police identified Saleena Isabelle Carra as a suspect as of Jan. 6 and began working with police in Arcada, Colorado to arrest her, police said. Police impounded what they suspect was the vehicle used in the killing, police said.
Carra was charged Monday with one count of murder. She is being held on $1 million bail in a Jefferson County Colorado jail and is awaiting extradition.
