A month-long investigation led to the arrest of two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in Indio, police said Saturday.

Christian Brooks Andrade, 20, of La Quinta and Adrian Vega, 22, of Coachella were arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder, according to the Indio Police Department.

They are suspected of fatally shooting Alejandro Lupercio, 24, of Indio who was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 13 in the he 45900 block of Duquesne Street, police said.

The death was reported by people who lived with Lupercio, according to department spokesman Ben Guitron.

Andrade was arrested in La Quinta and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center, where he remained on $1 million bail.

In addition to murder, Vega is also suspected of being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally concealing a firearm in his vehicle.

Vega was arrested in Coachella and remained jailed at the Robert Presley Detention Center on $1 million bail.

There was no word on a possible motive for the shooting.
