Beaumont police Tuesday renewed requests for the public’s help in identifying the assailant responsible for gunning down a 45-year-old man, releasing a sketch of the suspect in hopes of generating tips.
Leo Miguel Delara of Cherry Valley was killed March 18, 2020, at a residence on Myrl Drive, less than a block from Mountain View Cemetery.
According to police, Delara was with a woman, whose identity was not disclosed, and she was also shot, suffering non-life-threatening wounds.
A possible motive was not mentioned.
Witnesses told investigators that two men wearing hooded sweatshirts perpetrated the attack, then fled on foot.
One of the men appeared to be in his late 20s to mid 30s, with short hair and a faint mustache.
A sketch artist produced a composite drawing of the assailant, which the police department published here: beaumontpd.org/1165/Police-Department.
Anyone with information was asked to contact detectives at 951-769-8500, or via email at crimetips@beaumontpd.org.
