It took 70 firefighters 52 minutes to knock down a fire at a vacant medical building in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday.

Fire crews arrived at 12:07 a.m. to 1888 S. Main St. where a one-story commercial building had flames coming from the exterior of the building, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze using a defensive operation.

Prange said the cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
