Firefighters were working Saturday afternoon to free a woman who fell at least 10 feet down a cement-lined shaft.
The fall occurred about 3:15 p.m. at 931 N. Everett St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
The shaft was at a construction site, Stewart said.
The woman, believed in her mid-20s, had what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
She had stable vital signs and firefighters were not worried about ventilation or that the shaft would collapse, Stewart said.
“Firefighters are evaluating her injuries to determine the safest method of bringing her back to the surface,” she said.
