Flames spread from the fireplace of a West Los Angeles apartment into the wall and started rising Saturday before being put out by firefighters.
The fire was reported at 8:25 p.m. on the second floor of the three-story building at 11060 W. La Grange Ave., near Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.
A resident in a second-floor apartment told the fire department about smelling smoke and the wall next to the fireplace feeling hot, Prange said.
“It took 41 firefighters 28 minutes to locate, confine and extinguish the fire,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
