A pedestrian died Friday in a hit-and-run crash in the Baldwin Hills area, and police sought public help to find the motorist.
The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. at Crenshaw and Obama boulevards, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Joshua Brown, 32, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported. His city of residence was not known.
“A vehicle traveling northbound on La Cienega Boulevard struck a male pedestrian who was lying down on the roadway in the north crosswalk at Obama Boulevard,” police said in a statement. “Detectives are investigating to determine how the victim got onto the roadway and how many vehicles struck the victim.”
No description was available of the hit-and-run vehicle. A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.
