A 57-year-old woman was arrested after driving a Porsche while allegedly intoxicated Saturday morning into oncoming traffic on a West Hills road and hitting another car head-on, killing the 76-year-old woman at the wheel.
The crash was reported around 6:15 a.m. in the area of 24045 Woolsey Canyon Road, near Valley Circle Boulevard, investigating California Highway Patrol Officer G. Alvarez said.
The preliminary investigation determined the woman driving a 2021 Porsche was at fault “when she drove her vehicle to the left of the double yellow lines while under the influence alcohol and/or drugs,” Alvarez said.
The victim was driving a 2003 Nissan was taken to Northridge Hospital, where she died from her injuries, the officer said. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
Nohemi Harrison of West Hills was taken to West Hills Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries, released and arrested, Alvarez said.
Woolsey Canyon Road was closed in both directions for about five hours for the investigation, the officer said.
