Police were searching for a suspect who led officers on a pursuit in a stolen Mercedes-Benz Thursday and fled into a parking structure at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks.
Los Angeles Police Department officers began pursuing the suspect in Van Nuys, ABC7 reported about 5:30 p.m. Officers followed the suspect on freeways and streets to Encino, but terminated the pursuit due to heavy traffic.
The suspect drove on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway to Sherman Oaks, then exiting the freeway and driving into the mall’s parking structure just before 5:45 p.m.
Police were searching the area for a sign of the suspect, but it was not immediately known if the suspect got out of the car or was still in the area.
