A fire that erupted Friday in an outbuilding behind a Moreno Valley home destroyed the shed and extended to the residence, but no injuries were reported.
The blaze erupted about 11:25 a.m. on Seaport Circle, near Moonraker Lane, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Responding crews encountered flames raging inside the outbuilding with fire approaching the main house. The fire damaged the exterior of the residence but did not burn the interior before crews got it fully contained 20 minutes later, according to officials at the scene.
The storage unit was a complete loss.
No surrounding properties were impacted.
There was no immediate word on what triggered the fire.
