A California Highway Patrol pursuit on a Riverside County freeway Wednesday ended in Corona, where the suspect crashed outside a fire station.

The crash happened at about 1:10 p.m. at Station No. 6, near the intersection of East Upper Drive and South Main Street, according to the Corona Fire Department.

The agency said the motorist being chased lost control and plowed into property along the perimeter of the station, causing damage and leaving the suspect with minor injuries. It was unclear whether the suspect required hospitalization.

No other injuries were reported.

CHP officers took the man, whose identity was not released, into custody without incident.

The reason for the pursuit, which apparently began on Interstate 15, was not immediately released.
