A convicted felon accused of robbing multiple Old Town Temecula businesses will ask a judge next week to consider lowering his bail.

Sean Truman Harris, 34, of Cedar Pines was arrested last week following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation into a robbery series that began on March 20 and ended on March 27.

Harris is charged with three counts of armed robbery and prior felony strikes. He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Wednesday at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Superior Court Judge Elaine Kiefer ordered the defendant held without bail at the nearby Byrd Detention Center, prompting Harris’ public defender to immediately request a bail review hearing, which is scheduled for April 20.

According to sheriff’s officials, Harris allegedly targeted a Rodeway Inn, 76 gas station and Subway eatery in holdups that spanned one week.

“During the Temecula robberies … Harris brandished a weapon and demanded cash from the employees,” according to a sheriff’s statement. “He left the locations in a newer four-door compact vehicle.”

No one was injured during the robberies.

According to court records, Harris has prior convictions in Riverside County for possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary and receiving a stolen vehicle.
