A man suspected of violating a domestic violence court order, who was barricaded in a car in a restaurant parking lot in Foothill Ranch, was in custody Thursday after leading deputies on a chase from Mission Viejo.

Deputies were called about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Sweetbrier Lane in Mission Viejo regarding a man who was in violation of the court order, said Sgt. Scott Steinle of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The man drove away in a car and was pursued by deputies until being cornered in an In-N-Out Burger parking lot in Foothill Ranch.

Tactical teams and mental health specialists negotiated with the man, who was taken into custody about midnight, the sheriff’s department reported. His name was not released.
