Authorities Wednesday sought the public’s help to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for fatally injuring a pedestrian in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.

The woman, about 30 years old, was injured about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday on Carson Street near Denker Avenue, and she died at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Her name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.

The hit-and-run car was described only as a white coupe, possibly a BMW. No description was available of the motorist.
