Just days after his arrest, a Palm Desert man pleaded guilty Tuesday to harboring a fugitive who led sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit that began in Rancho Mirage.

Saliba Deeb, 29, pleaded guilty to one felony count of being an accessory and was immediately sentenced to two years probation, according to court records.

On Friday, deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle belonging to a suspect who had an outstanding warrant for parole violation and was believed to be armed and dangerous in Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect drove away, eventually crashing at the intersection of Oasis Club and Country Club drives in Palm Desert, authorities said.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and jumped a wall into a residential area where he hid inside a home, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies searched the neighborhood for the suspect, who was eventually located and arrested in the 100 block of Azzuro Drive, according to the sheriff’s department.

Daniel Ramirez, 36, of Thermal, was arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of violating his parole. He pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one felony count of evading arrest and a misdemeanor of driving without a license.

Deeb was arrested for knowingly harboring a fugitive, authorities said.
