A 27-year-old man accused of shooting a gun in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant in Palm Springs was arrested and remained jailed Saturday in lieu of $1 million bail.

The non-injury shooting was reported at 1:50 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of East Palm Canyon Drive, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Witnesses told arriving officers that the shooting occurred following an altercation in the restaurant. Investigators reviewed video taken at the scene and were able to identify the suspect as Antonio Ramirez Lorenzo.

When officers drove to the suspect’s Cathedral City home Friday afternoon, they spotted a vehicle leaving the residence with Lorenzo inside, authorities said. Police pulled the vehicle over and during the traffic stop, they allegedly found a loaded gun and ammunition inside.

Lorenzo was arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of attempted homicide, shooting at an inhabited vehicle, a felony narcotics warrant and various gun-related crimes.
