Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire that charred about an acre of grass in Peck Park Canyon in San Pedro.
The blaze at 1052 W. Upland Ave. was reported at 9:37 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Firefighters knocked down all active flames and were involved now in mop-up work, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported.
No structures were threatened and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
