A man was fatally shot Monday in Compton and sheriff’s detectives were searching for his killer.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of El Segundo Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Chen.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.
No suspect description was available.
