A brush fire broke out Wednesday in Mead Valley, quickly scorching two acres as crews attempted to encircle it, calling in Cal Fire aircraft to assist.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 10:40 a.m. in the area of Cajalco Road and Camino del Sol, less than a mile west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate through a field, not immediately threatening homes or other structures in the rural area, according to the agency.
Two Cal Fire air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter were summoned to make runs on the brusher.
No road closures were in effect, and no evacuation orders were imminent.
It was unclear how the fire started.
