One pedestrian was killed after they were stuck by a vehicle and a second victim was left in critical condition following the collision in the Pico-Union District Saturday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 1:20 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Venice Boulevard and South Oak Street regarding a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and a second was hospitalized with critical injuries.
The ages and genders of the victims were not known.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
