A judge Thursday dissolved a temporary restraining order obtained by Olivier Martinez against his ex-wife, Halle Berry, and will decide custody issues at a later date regarding the former couple’s 13-year-old son, Maceo, and rejected Martinez’s request for a domestic violence stay-away directive.
Media reports stated earlier Thursday that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shelley L. Kaufman had rejected Berry’s request to restore the former 50/50 shared custody arrangement after a multiday closed hearing. The custody arrangement will actually remain in place for now.
Martinez, 60, had alleged that Maceo sent him texts saying that Berry abused him while he was playing a virtual reality game and that she has also previously been hostile toward him. Berry denied Martinez’s accusations.
“I have never physically, emotionally or otherwise abused Maceo,” Berry, also 60, said in her court papers. “I am a victim of domestic violence and I help victims of domestic violence. I am not a perpetrator of violence. I would never hurt our child.”
The divorce between Martinez and Berry was finalized in 2023 after an eight-year battle.
