Torrance firefighters quickly put out flames in a stairwell at a care home Saturday.
The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. in the 25500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, according to Torrance police officials.
The fire was assigned a two-alarm response as a safety precaution because it was at a care home, and police and firefighters evacuated residents, said Torrance police Lt. P. Kranke.
By 8:17 p.m., all units had cleared the scene and residents were allowed to return, Kranke said.
No injuries were reported.
